Austin Street Style & Bleet-Up : they say I'm too young, but it's not my fault.

Katie, writer of Lux.
So, I went to the Bleet-Up at the Mohawk on Thursday. I waited in line for an hour-and-a-half, chatting with two lovely ladies, Katie and Adrienne.

Katie and Adrienne were both very friendly. We began to discuss our lives outside of blogging. I'm embarrassingly awkward when meeting new people sometimes, so of course within the first sentence I mentioned my dog, then laughed because I thought it was funny I brought her up.

Then Katie and Adrienne talked about themselves, and I found them both to be interesting; Katie's lived in England and Adrienne's from Louisiana.

All this talking definitely helped as the line was moving incredibly slow. I was really excited when I finally got to the front, but then was deeply disappointed when the guy handed back my ID, saying,

"We're giving away free alcohol.
You have to at least be 21.
"

Defeated, I walked back to my car, went home and got into my pajamas and curled up with my laptop. I wrote to Tolly, and she now ostensibly has my back. So here's to hoping that I one day meet all my little blog friends. I'll catch you at the next Bleet-Up.

Places to Go, People to Bleet.

If you're planning to attend the Austin Bloggers Bleet-Up on Thursday, be sure to RSVP here.

They're closing the RSVPs as soon as it hits capacity. Once you RSVP, you will be automatically entered to win Fun Fun Fun Fest tickets as well. Also, don't forget to bring your $7 entry-fee in cash! Thanks to Austin Eavesdropper for the heads-up.

The Bleet-Up is a great opportunity to meet Austin bloggers while enjoying food by Mama Fu's and cocktails from Sweet Leaf Tea and Tito's Handmade Vodka. There will also be pop-up shops by both Prototype Vintage and Rene Geneva Designs, and there will even be a silent guitar auction benefiting Girls Rock Camp for a guitar signed by Debbie Harry! Don't forget to check out the photo booth, either.

I cannot wait for Thursday to get here!

If you are looking for something to do before the Bleet-Up, be sure to head over to Maria Maria at 415 Colorado. Beginning at five, there's going to be a Rare Magazine Fashion Lounge. Enjoy cocktails and music while shopping clothing and boutiques! Browse the current collections of Eliza Page, Teddies for Betties, Missbehave, and Wish while sipping half-price margaritas. Massage Harmony will be giving massages and Sephora will be giving a $500 gift-basket to one lucky goer! The event lasts until 8PM...sounds good to me!

Launch 787, the creators of Austin Fashion Week, will be presenting the Holiday Shopping Event at the Mosaic on Mueller on November 8th. Shop jewelry, clothing, accessories, children’s items, and many more holiday gifts, from local designers, boutiques, and artists! Shopping aside, food will be provided, along with an open bar. Enjoy the entertainment as you peruse the booths of Austin’s most talented artists and designers.

Tickets are $5 in advance, $10 at the door. If you bring a new book to donate to the Dell Children’s Hospital, it will be $5 at the door. The event begins at noon and lasts until 6 PM.
Visit shop87.com to purchase tickets. Be sure to invite your friends and family to get tickets as well, for The Holiday Shopping Event is your only chance to see all this great merchandise at one location!
