Backstage at The Art Institute of Austin + AiStyle Midnight Masquerade Fashion Show.

I had a great time working The Art Institute of Austin and AiStyle fashion show! Before the show, I helped the fashion show director with various tasks. During the show, I helped dress a model into six different looks. The show was a great success, and a lot of money was raised for the Austin Settlement Home through the silent auction. It was a fantastic evening, so enjoy the photos!

Whitney Eve: Made With Love, 2009 Fall Collection.

All right, so after reading comments on Lauren Conrad's LC line at Kohl's, I wanted to know what y'all thought of Whitney Port's clothing line, Whitney Eve.

Whitney Port, of MTV's The Hills fame, moved to New York City and started fresh on The City.
The show follows Ms. Port as she navigates through the Big Apple, while working at Diane Von Furstenberg and beginning her fashion line. Unfortunately, as was the case with The Hills, you don't get to see any fashion design. The show is chock-full of drama, as in the first season, Whitney competes with her coworker, Olivia, and falls in-and-out of love with her boyfriend, Jay.

The new season has begun with Ms. Port switching back to her job at People's Revolution with a new roommate and coworker, Roxy, as Olivia starts fresh at the accessory department of Elle.

Don't let the reality shows fool you--Port's background in fashion is a how-to in fashion interning: she spent three summers at W, a summer at WWD, and of course interned at Teen Vogue before becoming a fashion contributor for the magazine.

Personally, I love the look of her 2009 Fall/Holiday Collection. With spurts of fuschia balanced with silver, black, and pearl tones, it's just the right amount of color. I love the flowy tops. A little vampy, a little dressy, the line is Whitney Port, all grown-up.

The Whitney Eve Collection beats LC's, hands down. Of course, the price-point is much higher; $150-$300 is the range.

You can shop the Fall/Holiday 2009 Lookbook at Whitneyeve.com. Although Ms. Port debuted her 2010 Spring Collection at Fashion Week in New York City last month, the collection is not currently up.

LC: Lauren Conrad at Kohl's.

With the new season of The Hills, Lauren Conrad's launch couldn't come at a better time.

Although she no longer appears on the show, the media is still talking about her. Lauren has been just as busy as before: along with her new line, Conrad has been on the Best Sellers List with her debut novel, LA Candy. She is currently in talks to adapt her book into a movie.

Her last clothing line, the Lauren Conrad Collection at Kitson's, became defunct after it failed to sell. Reports blamed this on LC's inability to promote the line.

I never bought anything from her previous line, as it was too simple for something so expensive.

But at Kohl's, Lauren Conrad has a lower price-point.

Everything is selling for $60 or less, and it's currently on sale.

What do you think of the line? If Conrad was going for a more casual look over exciting, she hit the mark. The clothes do look comfy, and the use of color is more subtle than extreme. However, overall, much like the People's List for Best Dressed, I find the garments to be uninspiring and rather drabby.

Perhaps because Conrad's clothing is already on-sale, Kohl's predicting the line will fare less than well. Only time will tell if Lauren Conrad's line will stick this time around.
